Will of Henry Martin

In the name of God Amen, I Henry Martin of the city of Brooklyn, County of Kings, State of New York, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testement. That is to say:

First: After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sophia Martin all the household furniture contained in my household situated at number one hundred and seventy-five (175) Ewen Street for her own use forever.

I give to my beloved wife all the stock of cutlery and other merchandise and wages contained in the store number one hundred and seventy-five Ewen Street together with the store fixtures for her use and benefit and disposal, forever.

I give to my beloved wife all the machinery, grindstones, polishing wheels and other tools contained in my work shop situated 132 Leonard Street forever.

I give to my beloved wife all the money deposited in the German Savings Bank in the City of Brooklyn, ED.

I give all the above bequests that are situated in the City of Brooklyn, ED to my beloved wife Sophia Martin for [her] to use as she may think best for her own all the proceeds and profits to be hers forever and I hereby appoint her sole guardian of my children. In case of my removal of either my dwelling , store or shop to any other location I give the above bequests to my wife whereever said wares merchandise to may be found.

Likewise, I make , constitute and appoint my beloved wife Sophia Martin of the City of Brooklyn, County of Kings, State of New York, to be Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the fifteenth day of May the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
