Obituary

Death of Mrs Cora Adell Williams

Mrs Cora Adell Williams died at the home of her parents, Rev. and Mrs E. Smith in Union City at 3:30 o'clock on the afternoon of Sunday, September 3, 1905, after an illness of two and a half years of consumption.

Miss Cora Adell Smith was born in the town of Arkwright, N.Y., and at the time of her death was 35 years, 6 months and three days old. She was a graduate of the Sugar Grove Seminary, in class of 1892, having completed a musical course under Prof. E. H. Hill, after which she spent two years teaching music in Buffalo, N.Y. She was united in marriage to Mr Edward C. Williams, at Lancaster, N.Y., on September 11, 1894, and to them was born one daughter, Naomi Evangeline, now seven years of age, who with her parents are left to mourn her untimely death.

Mrs. Williams throughout her long illness has been a great sufferer although everything possible known to human skill, was done for her by loving hearts and hands to stay the progress of the disease. She was taken to the south and to the distant west, but every effort proved unavailing and steadily she failed until the death angel came and closed her eyes, in peaceful rest. All through her long suffering she was patient and uncomplaining, and died as she had lived, a conscientious, christian woman.

She was a lady that all whoever knew loved, for she had a sweet disposition and was ever ready to greet her friends with a pleasant smile. In her home she was always striving to make it as atractive as possible and with her neighbors she was ready at all times to lend a helping hand when occasion required. While at Phoenix, Arizona, she united with the Methodist church and was still a member there when she died.

A short funeral service was held at the home of her father, Rev. E. Smith, Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock and her remains taken to Moons, N.Y., where funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday and interment made in the Cassadaga cemetery: Rev. N. J. McIntyre officiating at both services. Flowers in abundance were most tastefully arranged by kind friends

The husband and daughter together with Rev. and Mrs. E. Smith, have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad affliction.
