Dear Children,
... your aged and kind mother she
died the 25th of August about 3 oclock in the morning ... 
She had bin faling all Summer but we did not think this so ?
? and the morning before her death she could talk some but
was very weak the morning before that she told me she never
felt better ...

... Abiather has lost his
wife; I heare he is married again;
[Abraham still lives on Grand Island]
[Hiram lives in Watsburger?, Erie, Pennsylvania]

in West Greenage State of Rhodeisland Apr 26 1767 if you are a mind
to put her death in the Christian Advocate you will know how to word the rest

[There is a sheet of paper attached to the envelope.  It is two sided and written by Benajah Williams.  It is very hard to read]
My Mother was born in Greenage Rhodeisland
April 26th 1767 Removed to ...
... Removed in her childhood
with her parents (Abraham & Martha Matteson)
to Pownell Bennington co VT was there
married to Isaiah Williams near Pownell they removed
to Cazenovia N.Y.  ??? in 1805
by the Rev White Removed from this place to
Henderson, Jefferson Co, N.Y.  where she spent
the remnent of her days.  She raised 10 children
6 sons & 4 daughters ...
... She died on the 29th
of Aug last in 76 year of her age
